هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسی تولیدات علمی حوزه آموزش پزشکی و حوزه‌های مرتبط با آن و پیشینه تاریخی آن‌ها با استفاده از شاخص‌های کتاب‌سنجی است. این پژوهش از نظر هدف، کاربردی و از نظر روش‌شناسی، پیمایشی-تحلیلی با رویکرد علم‌سنجی است. برای ترسیم نقشه‌ها از نرم‌افزارهای VOS-Viewer و CRExplorer استفاده شده است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که روند استنادهای دریافت‌شده به مقالات حوزه آموزش پزشکی بر اساس سال، با استفاده از نرم‌افزار CRExplorer از سال ۱۹۷۵ تا ۲۰۲۳، تعداد استنادها بیش از ۵۰,۰۰۰ مورد بوده است. آمریکا، کانادا و انگلیس سه کشور مهم و برتر در حوزه آموزش پزشکی هستند. مقایسه شاخص‌های ذکرشده می‌تواند نقشه راهی برای پژوهشگران و علاقه‌مندان به این حوزه باشد تا با اتخاذ استراتژی‌های جستجوی سریع، دسترسی به مقالات متناسب با نیازهای اطلاعاتی خود را فراهم کنند. مصورسازی حوزه‌های موضوعی رشته‌هایی مانند آموزش پزشکی می‌تواند نقشه راهی برای سیاست‌گذاران اصلی این حوزه باشد. این مطالعه با ارائه یک تحلیل در مقیاس بزرگ مبتنی بر کتاب‌سنجی و مصورسازی از پژوهش‌های آموزش پزشکی نمایه‌شده در پایگاه داده وب آو ساینس (Web of Science)، به ادبیات موجود در این زمینه کمک می‌کند.
