The present study was conducted with the aim of the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy on social competence and emotional control in adolescent girls. The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with two experimental groups and a control group. The statistical population of the research was made up of all the students of the first year Shaistegan Girls' High School in Gorgan in the academic year of 1402-1403, whose number was 300. In the following, 30 students who obtained poor grades based on the screening conducted with Felner's (1990) social competence questionnaires and Williams and Chambless's (1997) emotional control questionnaires were selected as a sample using available sampling method. And they were randomly divided into two experimental (15 people) and control (15 people) groups. Cognitive-behavioral therapy sessions were conducted for 8 weekly sessions, one 60-minute session for the subjects of the experimental group, and the control group did not receive any treatment. Data analysis in this research was done using SPSS version 20 statistical software in two descriptive and inferential sections (mankva multivariate covariance analysis). The results showed that cognitive-behavioral therapy led to the improvement of social competence and control of emotions in the subjects of the experimental group in the post-test phase
